Waggy Tails - Pet Friendly Accommodation Brogo NSW

Rock Lily Cottages welcomes friendly, house trained dogs and their carers. There is a fully fenced yard or deck beside the cottage and a kennel at each location. Dogs are allowed inside the cottages but not in the bedrooms.

We charge $5 extra per dog per day or $20 per week.

If you are planning a road trip with your pooch, and driving through the area perhaps between Sydney and Melbourne, please contact us at least 24 hours before you would like to stay at Rock Lily Cottages.  There are not many Dog friendly places to stay in this region, and at peak times it can all be booked out weeks in advance, so please plan ahead to avoid disappointment.

Vaccinations:
The health and safety of our guests and their dogs is very important to us, so we request each visiting dog be wormed and on flea and tick treatment. We also recommend that dogs be vaccinated against parvo (which can be fatal to young dogs) as it can be contracted from public places such as parks. We request these things to keep our property free from worms, parvo and fleas. We recommend that you check your dog/s for ticks during your stay and again after you return home.

What to bring:

  1. Dog lead
  2. A dog water bowl and plate for each dog
  3. Dog food
  4. Dog bed, bedding, blanket for cold nights & some old towels for wet dogs.
  5. Toys, ball, kong etc. for playtime
  6. Some plastic bags to clean up your doggy doo’s.

Sleeping arrangements:
Dogs may sleep inside the house on their OWN bed (but not on lounges or beds provided for humans). A kennel is located in the dog yard (or deck) beside each of the cottages. There is a fully fenced ‘L’ shaped yard beside Clovelly and Polperro Cottages, and a fully fenced deck at Woodruff Cottage.

House Rules for the dog carers/owners:

  1. Please do not allow your dog/s to enter the bedroom/s (for health reasons and other allergic guests);
  2. Please do not allow your dog/s to sit on the lounge, furniture or beds;
  3. Please do not leave your dog/s inside the cottage when you go out;
  4. Please do not leave your dog/s alone at the cottage for hours on end – especially if it’s a puppy (under 2 years old) as they may suffer separation anxiety in a new location. This could result in them scratching at doors, chewing furniture, or trying to escape. We regret to advise that any damage caused by pets requiring an item to be replaced, repaired, or professionally cleaned, will need to be paid for by the owners. Damage to the cottage is not included in the tariff.

Cesune Park Pet Boarding Kennels have opened on Warrigal Range Road Brogo. They can provide overnight or day crèche for your dog/s. For example you may wish to spend a day visiting a National Park, and dogs are not allowed in National Parks.

At Rock Lily we have 2 rescue dogs from Animal Welfare League – a tiny maltese called “Kelly”, and her sister a tiny maltese x silky called “Tiffy”; we have a rescue dog from Monika’s Rescues called “Fonzie”, a real smoocher towards our guests, he is a silky x Jack Russell; and our latest adoption is “Rock” a shaded sable rough collie “aka a lassie dog” from Dalwood Kennels in the Yarra Valley. Rock was looking for a new home after his owner, a breeder of magnificent collies, sadly passed away. All our dogs are very friendly towards other dogs.

Mister MidnightMr Midnight (border collie) Born 20.8.94 Died 27.6.08 lived a charmed life for 13 years & 10 months. Many guests remember fondly our happy, sociable, extrovert “Mister Midnight” who welcomed and spontaneously visited our guests. He was loving, affectionate, intelligent and brave, always smiling, with one cheeky blue eye and one brown eye. I swear he even had a sense of humour. He loved swallows, eagles, and running through the bushes and briars. It was an honour and a privilege to be his mum. He passed away after a very short battle with cancer. “Kellagem Mr Midnight Blu” out of “Minimbah Nights Illusion” and “Kellagem Hot Sizzler” came from Margaret & Wally Morgan, who breed border collies in the Southern Highlands of NSW.

TessTess (border collie) Born 17.4.1996 Died 14.3.2010 lived happily for 13 years and 11 months. Tess was still in puppyhood when we moved to Brogo from the city. Life on 100 acres was a big adventure after a Paddington backyard. As a youngster she would turn inside out with glee each morning, demanding endless pats and tummy rubs before a scramble up the hill through the barbed wire fence, a circle around the neighbours horse a few times, a delicious snack of manure, then back to the verandah with a big smile on her face, tongue crookedly hanging half out of her mouth, tail wagging furiously, it was time for her share of the toast crusts. I remember fondly how she would bury her head in my lap making little snorting noises like a pig! Those were the days my little friend. Now buried beside Mr Midnght her lifelong partner whom she adored. “Trendale Satin Doll” out of Dancinvale Baryshnikov and Dancinvale Keepsake.
